Aurora looked over at the red head, a rather scary girl that Aurora had seen hanging out with Caleb before. “Hello…?” Aurora said in a rather mousy tone, obviously confused as to why she was sitting with her, but a little company never hurt.
“I’m Aurora…” She looked at Phoebe curiously, wondering why this girl was taking any interest in her, but Aurora tried to shrug it off, attatching a small bird to a card and animating it with her wand. “So. Are you ready to be out of hogwarts, yet?” This was the extent of Aurora’s attempts to initiate small talk. Phoebe didn’t seem the type to enjoy it, but Aurora hated awkward silences, especially when sitting so close to another female who was watching her glitter like it was going to start dancing any minute.
“Pleasure,” she continued on with her dry tone. There nothing at all to suggest that she was either displeased with or enjoying the small interaction they were having, and Phoebe wanted to keep it that way. She licked her lips slowly before shrugging her shoulders slightly.
“I’ve been ready, in all honesty,” she rolled her eyes, leaning back. “I love this shit hole, but it’s still a shit hole.” She smirked, then licked her lips again, not caring that the more she did that, the more dry they would become. She then turned to Aurora once more, eyes holding no emotion at all. “What about yourself? Ready to leave and make your own life?”

Aurora sat in the common room, her craft supply taking over one of the tables to the chagrin of the other students. There was glitter, cut out objects, magical objects, pens, markers, everything needed to make fancy cards. On a nearby table, Caleb Nott was glancing her way, making Aurora feel a tad nervous, but Caleb was always a creep, and he knew better than to mess with her, considering her four younger brothers that would outnumber him. Caleb was a creepy, disturbing individual, but by no means was he dumb. Frankly, Aurora couldn’t think of anyone smarter.
With her scrapbook paper, something her mother got her for Christmas, Aurora started making cards. Not for any real reason, but just so she could give people things. The first card was to miss Marion, one of her slytherin friends who needed a pick me up.
Legs crossed, and hands holding onto a small book, Phoebe glanced over at one of the more… interesting girls in the common room. Aurora had never held any value for her at all, and frankly she still didn’t. But there was something about the air around the red head that wanted her stand up and keep the other company. Smirking, and never to be one to ignore that commanding little voice, Phoebe closed her book, tucked it underneath her arm, and strode over to the other.
“Hello,” she said dryly, her voice as brittle as an old woman’s skeleton. Calmly, she took a spot right next to Aurora, setting her book in her lap. “I’m Phoebe,” she continued, not offering a hand, and looking at the glitter with less than apathetic eyes.

ACROSS THE UNIVERSE | SONGS If I Fell ⇢ Evan Rachel Wood
If I fell in love with you
Would you promise to be true
And help me understand
‘cause I’ve been in love before
And I found that love was more
Than just holding hands
